Big-box games I should complete one of these days
Description
This is my collection of old big-box (and some smaller box) PC games, most of which I never beat. I'll get to it one of these days, I suppose - step one is to actually list them here on completionator to get an added incentive.
Afterlife
This is a really cute city/god sim game where you take care of heaven and hell. No idea why I stopped playing, but at least I've bought it again on gog.com so I should be able to do it without too much hassle.
Baldur's Gate
This one I actually beat! It took me a couple of years though, since I paused right when I got to the city of Baldur's Gate and didn't pick it up until 3+ years later. I don't recall why I quit playing. Maybe I was overwhelmed by the new map with so many new things to do. :P
Battle Isle: The Andosia War
Never even started playing this one.
Beneath a Steel Sky
Ah, Beneath a Steel Sky. A classic amongst point and click adventure game. I think I quit playing a pretty short while into the game, when I had to time doing something while something else was away. Well, that was vague, but it was like 15 years ago.
Blade Runner
Never started playing this which is a pity, 'cause it sounds really cool when I read about it.
Blaze & Blade: Eternal Quest
Uhm. Maybe I bought this on a sale? It looks like a pretty generic action RPG, and I'm not surprised I wasn't tempted to play it.
The Curse of Monkey Island
Haven't played this, but then again I haven't played any of the Monkey Island games. Yeah, yeah, I know. I will. One day.
Dark Vengeance
This is some sort of third-person action adventure game. I recall playing a couple of levels, dying horribly and then never picking it up again. Or that could be any other game of its ilk. My patience isn't that good, and I have so many games to play :O
Dink Smallwood
What made me buy this title was its promises that I could make my own adventures using its game engine. Yeah, that never happened, and I never finished the game either.
Discworld II: Mortality Bytes!
I should make sure to play this one too. I like Discworld.
Dungeon Keeper
Yay, finally a game on the list I've finished! I love this game!
Dungeon Keeper: The Deeper Dungeons
I think I played through the Deeper Dungeons too?
Dungeon Keeper 2
Never even started Dungeon Keeper 2 though, which is weird. But my game playing habits are weird.
The Elder Scrolls Chapter II: Daggerfall
Have yet to complete this game but I've put so many hours in it. Main quest, what main quest?
The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard
Well, I bought it because it said "Elder Scrolls". Then I played five minutes of it and went back to Daggerfall.
The Legend of Kyrandia: Book One
This one I played through pretty recently. ( I say, and it turns out to be 2014. Well, that's recent given the games age I guess). A nice little point-and-click game with some annoying sequences. I'm looking at YOU, labyrinthine cave.
The Legend of Kyrandia: Book Two - The Hand of Fate
I played this long before I played its prequel. I don't remember much of it.
Fallout
Hello my darling! Played, completed, bought the rest of the Fallout games and never finished them.
Fallout 2
I started playing this again a couple of years ago but have paused from too-much-to-dooitis. I should stop doing that.
Final Fantasy VII
When I bought this i had already beaten the game twice or so on PSX, but hey! Higher resolution graphic in battles! And the box had a crack so it was really cheap!
Didn't play it but it doesn't really count.. or hm. Maybe it does.
Grim Fandango
Another one of the classics I never beat. Sigh.
Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny
I played the first Lands of Lore at my then boyfriend's house. Liked it. Why I never played through this? Well it's nothing like the first game! I like those old grid-style first person RPGs, this is all.. fancy and polygonal. Welp.
Lands of Lore III
Yeah, same as Lands of Lore 2.
Little Big Adventure
I suck at controlling Twinsen so I stopped playing
Lords of Magic
Some generic strategy RPG. It wasn't awful but it didn't draw me in.
An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire
Like "Redguard" I bought this because of the Elder Scrolls title, and returned to Daggerfall instead.
Frontier: Elite II
Soooo many hours played. Never got very far though since I kept restarting from scratch. Stupid prositen.
Magic & Mayhem
Another game I bought and never played, but now I read that Julian Gollop of XCOM fame was involved so I'm intrigued!
Magic Carpet Plus
This was really fun! And it had an early red-green 3D mode for those old paper-plastic glasses. I think I got carsick from playing though, even in regular mode. Or I was shitty at it, who can tell.
Phantasmagoria
Of all the ruddy games on this list I've beaten this. Yeesh. It was pretty short though. An ugly FMV horror game. Don't play it, look it up on youtube.
Pizza Tycoon
Okay, another game I've played soooo much. No wonder I never beat any other games, I kept putting in hours in these play-forever-type of games.
Pizza Connection 2
Never played.
Planescape: Torment
Started, never finished. Should play.
RollerCoaster Tycoon (1999)
You guessed it: Played and played and played! At least this one has levels so I could see some progress.
RollerCoaster Tycoon: Corkscrew Follies
Not played, wanted to wait until I beat the main game. Which never happened.
The Settlers (1993)
Another contender to the title of "most played games of prositen's youth". I wish I could find a legal copy of this somewhere. The sequels aren't the same.
The Settlers III
"The sequels aren't the same"
Star Trek: Hidden Evil
Never even booted
Syndicate Wars
Yeah, was gonna wait with this until I beat Syndicate, but I was so bad at that game it never happened.
Theme Park
Yeah, this is another "played into the wee hours of night". Rollercoaster Tycoon was overall better but I liked the ugly little people in this one.
Sim Theme Park
Nope, never played.
Transport Tycoon
Yes, played. And now I've found OOTD. Yay!
Ultima IX: Ascension
I tried it and turned it off.
Warlords III: Darklords Rising
There was an old Warlords game at my then boyfriend's house. Black and white, and for the macintosh. That was fun, so I bought this years later. Never finished it.
X-COM: Apocalypse
When I started playing this game I had but recently finished the first XCOM. So this was really confusing to me. I thought I'd get back to it later but I never did.
