http://www.pcgamer.com/sega-mega-drive-classics-hub-will-boast-steam-workshop-support/

Sega's revamping the hub program which they use to enable old Genesis games to be sold on Steam. If you already own at least one Genesis game on Steam (which you do if you caught even one week of the recent Make War, Not Love promo), you'll get the new hub program for free.

Details and a video at the link above.

That game cartridge clearly passed through the tv cabinet when it was being inserted into the virtual console during the video. My immersion has been ruined. VR is dead.

In all seriousness though, it's pretty neat. Kind of unnecessary, but neat, lol

Wow, this is a really nice surprise. I love Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection since it has a ton of games, various graphics filters, save states, etc. It sounds like they're wrapping a similar thing around their Steam releases. I'm definitely intrigued by the workshop integration. The first thing that came to mind was sprite swapping, so...Mario & Knuckles?

This is both really strange and really cool. Glad to see Sega is willing to open their classic games up in such a way. It only took them, oh, over 20 years ;).
