2025 was a very good year for games all around, and it seems that 2026 will continue that trend with new releases that all look very promising. Here are some of my most anticipated games of the year.

Romeo is a Dead Man

I'm always down for a Suda51 game, and Grasshopper Interactive's newest project seems to carry the crazy and unique style of art and gameplay that all of their other games have. Can't wait to see how this one turns out.

Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom's idea to combine the third person action of their remakes with the first person horror of their new mainline games seems ambitious, but so far everything I've seen about Requiem looks promising. As a celebration of the series 30th anniversary, I'm very excited to see if Capcom pulls this off.

Pragmata

Requiem isn't the only Capcom game I'm looking forward to this year. I've been interested in this game since it's initial teaser in the first PS5 showcase in 2020, so it's really exciting to see it so close to actually releasing. I always love when Capcom tries something new, and Pragmata has the potential to be an incredible new IP from the company.

Invincible VS

I've been a fan of Invincible even before the show premiered (the show is awesome by the way, check it out), and this game looks like it'll do justice to the IP. The combat looks very fun, and the art style looks really cool. I just hope there's enough there at launch to keep people interested.

Saros

I really enjoyed Housemarque's last game "Returnal", so I've been patiently waiting for their newest game, which seems to carry over many of the things I loved about Returnal. I just hope the continue button is present at launch this time.

007 First Light

The idea of IOI Interactive making a 007 is already an interesting idea, but the trailers and gameplay I've seen have me very excited.

Phantom Blade Zero

I am a sucker for games with stylish and flashy combat, and Phantom Blade Zero looks like it'll have plenty of that.

Grand Theft Auto VI

I mean, duh

Ace Combat 8

FINALLY, I'm so glad they chose to wait until they were close to release to announce this because the wait for 7 was unbearable. I really hope there is a VR mode planned for this one, because the one for 7 was great, and the one for Project Wingman was awesome.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

Welcome back Marvel Super Heroes. If Capcom won't make another Marvel fighting game then ArcSys will!

Marvel's Wolverine

Although I was somewhat disappointed by Spider-Man 2, Insomniac's next Marvel project looks very promising. I can't wait to see more gameplay, and I hope that the story lives up to my expectations.

Orbitals

I love the 90's anime art style, and I love a good co-op experience. A game that has both was always going to pique my interest.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

Classic Lara is back, and I couldn't be happier. Of the two Tomb Raiders announced at the Game Awards 2025, this is the one I am the most excited about. Fingers crossed for this one.

The Duskbloods

A new From Software game is always going to capture my attention, but this one looks very intriguing. I'm hoping to expand my Switch 2 library this year, and this has the potential to be the "killer app" the console needs.
