It would be a nice addition to the collection list if you could see how many copies of a game you have. After importing my GOG collection I ended up with a lot of double entry's, either because I entered them manually before or I also have them in my Steam library. I have no idea how many doubles I have so it would be great if I could see how many and perhaps navigate to a list of them ( and then remove one version from my backlog and hide it )

I've been thinking about adding a new feature that could help highlight this. I've been calling them "alerts", but I'm not settled on that name just set. The idea is to bring to your attention certain "oddities" in the data you've entered. Here are the ones I have so far:

  • Games on your wish list that are in your collection
  • Games you've marked as "New", but have marked as "Finished" or "Now Playing"
  • Games with 00:00:00 completion times
  • Games you've marked as finished or entered a completion time, but haven't entered a rating
  • Games you've marked as finished or entered a completion time, but haven't entered tags

The latter two are mainly just to spur usage of those particular features, but the first three seem like legitimate issues. Although I do have instances where I have a sealed (i.e. "New") copy of a game, even though I finished it (using a previous copy or something), that's definitely the exception and not the rule. I think the duplicate copies of a game on a platform / digital provider is another valid alert. Again, I have some instances where I own the same game on the same platform, but it's the exception and not the rule. And for digital providers, that should really never happen (barring any wacky compilation games, but again, that's the exception).

I envisioned this as being a separate page (maybe not on the left menu, since we're running out of space?) rather than embedded into the various pages. I planned on providing links so you can go and correct the issues (assuming they're issues) or possibly let you take action right there (this will require a bit more time though). Any thoughts on this approach and do you think it solves the issue you described? Also, can anyone think of any other "alerts" that might be useful? And is there anything better to call these things than "alerts"?

A lot of these sound like they might be doable with the filters on the collection page, maybe adding a list/buttons/whatever of filter pre-sets might be the way to go? Like a list of handy "collection maintenance" filters or something.
