I was looking at my report and noticed that I was short quite a few games from my collection as opposed to games that I have actually completed. When going through the list of games, I had just added the completion for the game, assuming the fact that they would also be added to my collection. So I guess a couple broken up questions on my part would be...

  • Can games automatically be added to your collection when filing in for a completion?
  • Is there any way to migrate the completion data into the collection data for games that do not exist in the collection?

Thanks!

The short answers are:

  • Not currently
  • Not through the website

The long answers are:

  • Based on the metrics I've looked at in the past, the completions feature is actually not used very widely, at least not in comparison to the collection tracking feature. Hopefully over time more users start to log their times, but I'd say you're probably the outlier in terms of entering completions before adding the game to your collection
  • While you may not be able to do it from the website and it's probably not a common enough operation to warrant new development, I could potentially write a simple script to port your data over. Let me know if you want me to look into it. I haven't had to write one of these before, but it should be pretty straightforward, though I will obviously need to keep the collection entries pretty barebones (i.e. the platform and region will be the only things filled out).

Hi moho_00,

Thank you for your response. If you have nothing else on your place, feel free to look at it, but it's much of importance at the moment, as long as my information is there one way or another, haha. I've been keeping track of games on Backloggery previously, which easily establishes which games were Beaten, Completed, etc. It should not take much effort at all to transfer that data over, seeing as I still have a bit of my backlog to pull over from that site anyways. Thank you for the response!

Best,
GospelEXE

Below is a list of what I think would need to be added to your collection. Check it out and if it sounds accurate to you, I can get 'em loaded in this weekend One other note, I won't be setting the digital format either, so you'll potentially have a little bit of cleanup afterwards, but this should help save you some time. Also, I'll set all of these to the NTSC-U region, assuming that's where most of them are from.
