Hi! I recall bringing up duplicates about a year ago, but I wanted to revisit the topic as my suggestion has expanded to include things that aren't duplicates, haha.

Basically, I'd really love the option to only display one copy or version of the games in my collection.

Digital copies through different retailers.
Digital and physical copies.
Game of the Year Editions.
Episodic games that get released as a season, like the Telltale Sam & Max games.

Specifically regarding that last point, if not as an automatic feature, at least the option to be able to group games together myself would be nice.

Using the Sam & Max games as an example for that:

A new field on the edit screen called, "Bundle" or something, type "Sam & Max: Season 1" onto the 6 games of season 1 and it'll bundle them together with that name.

This would take my collection from 28 Sam & Max entries to 4.

Lastly, on the "Duplicate Items" page, a quick "merge" or "fix" button, where it either combines the two or simply deletes the copy that's at it's default state.

Example: http://www.completionator.com/Collection/Index/13467?gameID=31107

Two copies of Doom 3: BFG edition, one completed, one not. Both the exact same Steam copy. Really no need for two entries of that. Would be nice to be able to click a button and have that incomplete version go away without having to, "view in my collection, menu, remove, confirm" every one of these.

Anyway, thanks for your time and this site! :D

@hamsteralliance - Generally once a "bundle" game like the aforementioned Sam & Max episodic games are fully released and sold as a bundle, moho_00 creates a "compilation" entry for that game that behaves in the way you're looking for. If you check the list of games, you'll see that season one is in fact already in there as "Sam & Max Hit the Road"

That said, you will still have to manually remove the games you've added individually and re-add the compilation to your collection to get the behaviour you're looking for. Also, there's an option in your collection settings button called "break out compilation games" where you can decide if it will only display the main compilation entry (ie: Sam and Max Hit the Road) or list that compilation entry + all of the individual episodes.

If you do find any other compilations that are missing from the site, you can request them to be added in the Games to Add thread.

As for displaying only one copy or version of games in your collection: I too have several copies of certain games and my strategy for keeping the clutter down has been to mark erroneous copies as hidden. Generally I'll keep each physical copy I own visible, but any redundant digital copies beyond one get the hidden attribute. The duplicates page still displays items that are marked as hidden, but at least they won't show up on your main collection page by default when you're looking at your mountain of games. :)

Hopefully some of this helps!
