Everlasting Summer, huh? I've completed it a couple of times even before I knew it was translated into English xD |

Eh, I don't have very much interest towards this novel right now, but alright - I have to distract myself with some quick completions after focusing on "Fantasy Wars" that much. I'll do it for this bounty. See ya with a completion time! |

Finished it last night. It took me 10h 24m, quite a while, actually.

I actually played this one a long while back. It's kind of interesting in being that it's a visual novel it captures that same sort of foreign-ness that anime has when you first start watching. There's a certain feeling that you aren't getting cultural references and such, but as the main character is disoriented by the Time travel thing, it puts you in sync a little bit. Miku is an obvious insert, Electronik basically tells you his name is a reference, and I later found out the Shurik was as well. Wouldn't surprise me to find out the other girls were as well. Overall it was okay, but only did 3 routes I think. Lena (both), Ulyana, and I'm not sure if I finished Slavya's. It does read a bit generic for a Camp Mystery/Dating Visual Novel once you get past the Soviet-isims. I didn't do all the routes, but I've heard there's more if you do all of them. Unfortunately I didn't really have the patience for that. Edit: Oh yeah, you wanted to know about reactions around the world. I'm Canadian, and not old enough to remember the USSR.

Huh, yeah, that's an interesting take on it, thank you for sharing. I guess this whole cultural reference theme has divided Everlasting Summer into two different novels in a way, for two different types of audiences. I think I would feel completely the same way if I happened to sink my teeth in a work of art that's based on another culture, unfamiliar to me,
