I added my steam ID to my profile which seems to test ok and saved but no handed were imported. I don’t see an action or link to manually force the import either

The import is a manual operation that you can perform on your Collection page. There's an Import / Export button towards the top.

If the menu is on the left, then you must be in a lower resolution and some options aren't available.
