The original game. There also exists a "Gold" edition, which makes changes to some missions and adds 3 new ones. Nowadays, you will find the "Gold" edition everywhere on digital storefronts (such as GOG or Steam), but the original game can still be played (either by getting a physical copy, or installing mods that revert the "Gold" edition back to the original).

The sequel of the first game, built on the same engine. Has a lot of fan missions also available for tons of extra content! Sadly, it never received a "Gold" edition, despite the dev studio planning one, since they went bankrupt..

The third game in the series is very different from the two that came before it. It was released as an XBox title 4 years after the last entry, and uses a completely new engine (Unreal 2). That being said, the story is still a continuation to the first two.

The reboot of the series. The story has nothing to do with the first three, and it is widely considered to be the worst in the series.

Part of the reboot as well but much more well-received, this is the only game in the franchise that is a VR-exclusive, and the only game where you don't play as Garrett.
